It is estimated that 6,000 more nurses from the Catholic and Church health services system will be added to Alesco’s payroll, giving them more certainty and higher pay levels.

The education sector also grew from K 1,095 million to K 1,470 million, an increase of 34%.

This includes K 632 million for full government tuition grants, making 2022 the highest level of support ever provided.

Budget 2022 invests more in community services with a 52% funding increase from K 102 million to K 156 million.

This includes full funding for the establishment of the Gender-Based Violence Secretariat and support for prominent NGOs addressing domestic violence.

Treasurer Ian Ling Stuckey said the government is leading these vital expenditures on our human and physical resources, while continuing the process of repairing and rebuilding the budget.
