Walmart and Sam’s Club begin to offer prescription COVID pill


LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – On December 30, Walmart and Sam’s Club pharmacies began distributing the licensed COVID antiviral drug, Paxlovid and molnupiravir in Nebraska, through the US Federal Retail Pharmacy Therapeutic Treatment Program.

Some Walmart and Sam’s Club pharmacies receive limited amounts of COVID-19 antiviral drugs.

The drug is only available with a prescription from a healthcare practitioner.

Customers and healthcare providers can go to and use the store locator to find the nearest store or club that offers this drug to send the electronic prescription. .

Since the drugs are prescribed for people with COVID-19, they will only be available at Walmart and Sam’s Club by curbside pickup or through drive-through drugstore windows.
